Public Works Update
Dan Golka has given notice of his retirement from the Summer Village of Silver Sands Public Works. Dan has been working for the Summer Village for over 5 years and his dedication to this community will be missed. We thank Dan for his years of service and wish him and his family all the best on the go forward. We are pleased to welcome Dustin Uhlman to our Summer Village team as our Public Works Supervisor! Dustin will commence his employment on Monday, February 22nd, 2021, and Dan will continue with us for a short time while introducing Dustin to the community and the general and specifics of his new responsibilities. Vehicle Axle Weight Restriction in Effect - March 26, 2021
Effective March 26, 2021 to June 1, 2021 (or as determined by the Summer Village) there will be a 75% Road Ban in effect on all roads within the Summer Village. This ban also applies to all water and sewer carriers.
Summer Village Compost Site - Now Open!
The Summer Village Compost site is located at the Public Works Quonset site. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The site currently accepts leaves, grass clippings and lake weeds.
Do you need some compost material or mulch?
The Summer Village may have some available!

-Sand/Chip Bins for Icy Walkways
Sand bins are available for residents to use for icy walkways during the winter months. These are bright yellow bins and are located throughout the Summer Village at the following locations:
-west side in front of 4 Hazel Avenue
-west side in front of 25 Willow Avenue
-east side in front of 2 Conifer Crescent
-east side of the top of the hill on Silver Sands Drive off of TWP 540
-east side in front of 17 Ash Avenue
There are also sand and gravel chips at the rear of the Quonset. Please bring your own pail to transport and only take what you require.
