FALL FIRE SAFETY MESSAGE

Your local fire department is reminding all residents and property owners in our service area to observe the following best practices for a fire safe home this fall:

*Ensure you have your chimneys cleaned, as well as laundry dryer vents - two

common fall fire risks if not maintained.

*When using space heaters - give them at least three feet clearance on all sides and

keep them away from curtains and any other material that may come in contact with

 the heater.

*Have an escape plan in your home- make sure you have at least two ways out

and practice this with everyone who lives with you.

Also, as the busy summer draws to a close and we settle in for the colder months, consider how you might be able to help your local fire station. We're always looking for new team members - volunteer, paid on-call, and staff positions. Whether you're looking for a new career, a career change, or just wanting to be a part of team, we've got a solution for you!

Currently there are excellent staff positions open for applicants:
-Fire Captain (x2)
-Assistant Fire Chief (x1)

Please view the posting below for more detail.

Take care and be safe!
